Berjaya Tioman Reef Clean-up
|Tioman Island (Malaysia), 5 - 7 March 2010|
Marking another memorable day at Berjaya Tioman Resort, the first 'Berjaya Tioman Reef Cleanup' (BTRC) was held at the resort from 5 to 7 March 2010. Organised by Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, the event brought 50 divers to Tioman Island for the goodwill cause.
The event was supported by PADI Project AWARE and 3 dive centres - Dolphin Sport Adventure, R&D Scuba, and Services and Scuba People. They came together and made a meaningful pledge on conserving and protecting the coral reefs and underwater species, hoping to sustain a good ecosystem.
Perserving the coral reefs is not an overnight thing. It is a long-term effort that Berjaya Hotels & Resorts is bound to sustain. Berjaya Hotels & Resorts is taking the CSR program to the next level, hosting the event twice annually. One in March at Berjaya Tioman Resorts and another in September at Berjaya Redang Resort.
We hope diver/non-divers will prolong their support for a better environment and generation.
