Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Johor Bahru Gives Back To Local Community In Conjunction With The Lunar New Year

Hotel Associates visit Local Welfare Centre in Taman Iskandar for the Disabled and Needy to Spread Festive Cheer

JOHOR BAHRU, 29 February 2016 – Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Johor Bahru (BWH) recently organised a visit to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Insan Istimewa Johor Bahru located in Taman Iskandar to spread some festive cheer for the residents as part of the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility exercise. This ‘Giveback to the Community’ activity was initiated by the hotel during the Lunar New Year where the BWH team also contributed a donation of RM500 which was presented to the home.

Besides that, residents of the Johor Bahru disabled association were treated to a lunch by Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Johor Bahru staff which have been prepared by The Hotel’s Food & Beverage team. The BWH team also spent quality time with the residents and got them involved in several entertaining games and activities like the fun-filled clown show and musical chairs to name a few.

“It has always been an effort of Berjaya Waterfront Hotel to actively support the local communities the hotel operates in. This CSR programme will be a continuous affairs and we hope that our contribution can bring cheer to the less fortunate and let them feel that they are not alone in this world. This is the hotel’s effort and commitment to back and help those who are in need,” said BWH General Manager, En Zaharudin Abd Jalil.

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Insan Istimewa Johor Bahru is a non-profit organisation established in May 2008 caring for a total of 41 disabled children aged from a minimum of one year to 36 years of age. The home adopts and takes care of physically handicapped and mentally retarded children suffering from conditions such as Down Syndrome, Spactic, Slow Learner, Cerebral Palsy, Hyperactive, Autism, and Blindness.
