The contest winners will be selected based on public votes. The winning couple will be whisked off to be married at Berjaya Langkawi Beach and Spa Resort, with all expenses paid for by the organiser.

The contest comprises four stages -- voting, blogging, video streaming and picture galleries.

To kickstart "Love Me Do," the media were driven in 25 classic cars to Berjaya Bukit Tinggi Resort to experience and learn more about wedding traditions and have a taste of what is in store for the contest winners.

The cars, decorated to resemble bridal carriages, set the mood.

Upon arrival, the media were given a short briefing on the "rice confetti" tradition.

Rice plays important role in most cultures as it represents life and fertility.

Thus rice is thrown at the bride and groom during weddings.

The media members then participated in a cake decorating session before heading to the Japanese Village to experience a Japanese wedding ritual.

The Japanese tea ceremony is a ritual based on the principals of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility known as wa, kae, sae, jubuo respectively. Sake, too, is served at weddings, with nine cups for the couple.

A 30-minute pampering session at Tatami Spa was next to de-stress and revitalise. It proved to be a most welcome treat, and would most certainly help to soothe away any wedding jitters.
