Seven Brides Dress Up for Berjaya Love Me Do!

Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, 22 January 2009 – It was a cosy affair at That Special Occasion when Berjaya Love Me Do! Top 7 couples gather for a bridal gown-fitting session. The brides had the time of their lives trying out the gowns and parading them for their fiancés to see. Some looked a little dubious at the gowns they were wearing but decided to listen to the advice of the gown designers anyway.

“It’s important for the brides to trust the wedding service providers and listen to their views,” said Kris Wong who founded That Special Occasion in 2000. “But at the same time, brides need to also go with their instincts and choose the wedding gown they like at first sight. It’s a balance really.”

That Special Occasion specializes in made-to-measure and off-the-rack bridal and evening gowns, mothers and bridesmaid dresses. “The beauty of having custom-made gowns is that the bride can give her input and will end up get the gown she truly wants,” Kris added.  Today's gown-fitting session, however, comprised off-the-rack selections.  Ultimately, the winner of Love Me Do! will get a made-to-measure bridal gown valued at RM2,500 to wear at a fully paid for beach wedding reception at Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort with 58 guests.

The grooms already had their measurements taken last Friday for tailor-made suits by Bespoked. These gowns and suits would be worn during a bridal photo shoot session with world-renowned photographer Edmund Tham scheduled on 5 and 6 February 2009 at Berjaya Hills and Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Centre. Custom-made accessories donned during the photo shoot sessions will be handpicked by Yuan Jewelries while make-up will be done by Shu Uemura and hair-styling by Centro for Loreal Professionnel.

Ms. Thang Han-Ni, Director of Marketing & Communications, Berjaya Hotels & Resorts said, “After putting in so much of dedication and effort into their video recordings and garnering high votes from the public – even to the extent of distributing pamphlets at mamak stalls and email-blasting their colleagues – these couples truly deserved to be rewarded with a gown-fitting session and bridal photoshoot.”

She added that the gown-fitting and photo shoot sessions are just some of the month-long Love Me Do! activities that will serve as fodder for each couple’s blogs.  The blog is the current key instrument used to connect to their fans and getting more votes.

“This is the stage where the couples get to close the gap with the public. The power of the pen will reveal the character and personalities of each couple and endear their readers to vote for them,” Han-Ni continued.

Narrowing from 31 couples to the current seven couples, the public gets to vote again for their Top 3 couples starting today. To view their blogs, head over to www.lovemedo.com.my.
