Berjaya Manila Hotel launches outreach program for the deaf
MANILA, SEPTEMBER 2011 The Philippine School for the Deaf in Pasay City had an early Christmas treat last 23 August 2011 when the institution received donations from representatives of Berjaya Manila Hotel.
Officers of Berjaya Manila Hotel in Makati City paid a visit to the government-run educational institution to donate towels, bed sheets and noodles for the school's dormitory and its students.
Dr. Yolanda Capulong, the school's principal, led other administrators in receiving the donation from Berjaya Manila Hotel Manager Maria Aurora Rementilla, Senior HR Manager Jeanneth Cullano, Executive Housekeeper Maristela Del Rosario and Director of Sales and Marketing Carmelo De Gorostiza.
The outreach project is in line with Berjaya Hotels and Resorts chain's corporate social responsibility program conducted by its properties located in different parts of the world. Berjaya Manila Hotel extended to the Philippines the company's generosity initially to the Philippine School for the Deaf, but promised to embark on other charitable ventures to cover more beneficiaries in the future.
The Philippine School for the Deaf was established in 1907. For over a century, it has provided quality education and services to hearing-impaired Filipinos, promoted their growth and supported their integration in mainstream society.
