Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Organises Charity Visit to Pusat Kebajikan & Penjagaan Nur Hidayah
KUALA LUMPUR, OCTOBER 2012 – Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur has recently organised a charity visit to ‘Pusat Kebajikan & Penjagaan Nur Hidayah’, a home for the orphans, poor children and children of single parent who all practice the way of Islam. During this visit in the afternoon, staff volunteers from the hotel contributed a fair amount of assistance in lending a helping hand; cleaning, serving meal and donating goods to these children and their home, all in a fiery passion and commitment to be a part of the community who are in need.
The team of 27 staff volunteers from the respective departments of the hotel spared their time to help these less fortunate children of ‘Pusat Kebajikan & Penjagaan Nur Hidayah’. They took the chance to bond and mingle with the children who were very well mannered and inquisitive. The home houses 50 children from the age of 6 months to 15 years old which also includes 3 infants who are suffering from illness such as congenital heart defect (hole-in-the-heart), skin disorder and asthma.
The volunteers were split into two groups; the first group did a thorough sanitizing of the compound area and in the home whereas the second group focused on heavy lifting and maintenance works on the lightings, electrical equipments and water supply which were faulty.
After all cleaning and maintenance were done the team proceeded to a late lunch session with the children which was prepared specially by the hotel’s kitchen team such as fried rice, sandwich, nuggets and other pastries. Staff volunteers mingled and ate with the children, sharing their love and care which the children are deprived of.
Towards the end of the visit, Purchasing Manager, Ms Winnie presented Pn Roslailawati bt. Mohamad, also known as “Ibu” with donations from Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and its staff. Items donated by the hotel are 30 pieces of towels and a Hi-Fi set whereas the personal donations from the staff amounted to 7 boxes of children’s extra needs such as clothes, toys and many more.
