ANSA HOTEL KUALA LUMPUR ACKNOWLEDGE THE MONTH OF DEEPAVALI BY DONATING HOUSEHOLD GOODS AT AGATHIANS SHELTER

KUALA LUMPUR, OCTOBER 2019 - ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a 4 Star City Hotel located in Bukit Bintang, strongly believes in giving back to society and creating awareness to the public. It is one of our duties to care and give back through our company core values which are held throughout the year. As hotel business challenges continue to increase, the intrinsic value of our service and guest satisfaction will continue to expand through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

In the month of October, ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur visited Agathians Shelter in Petaling Jaya for their CSR programme and to acknowledge Deepavali, the festival of lights. The volunteers, made up of 10 associates from different departments within the hotel arrived at the shelter around 11am and were greeted by the Executive Council Member, Inthira as well as 3 young children. The majority of the underprivileged children, (aged 5-20 years) attend school and thus were not at the home during the visit. The welfare home houses around 40 boys who are either orphans, abandoned or from broken families. The home was delighted when ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur brought them groceries including rice, cooking oil, toiletries and dry goods. They thanked the hotel associates that came and spent some time with them and made them feel special.

We hope that this little contribution to Agathians Shelter will help to create more awareness among the public about underprivileged children living in Kuala Lumpur.

Agathians Shelter is a legally registered welfare home under the name: Pertubuhan Kebajikan Agathians Malaysia (0061-04-7). Founded by Mr Siya Balan (Brother Siva) in an attempt to rescue 8 boys from an illegal orphanage closed down in 2003. They are a welfare home located in Petaling Jaya and have 40 boys who are either orphans, abandoned or from broken families. The age ranges between 3 to 20 years old. There mission is to save the children for the streets and to fulfil all essential needs in every kid’s life such as shelter, food, education, care, attention and love.
