Welcoming the Spirit of Love and Giving with the Giving Bank & Orient Snow at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
DECEMBER 2018 – The tradition in “seasons of giving” takes a different take this year Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur (BTHKL) by spreading the gift of wisdom and knowledge through our CSR effort with The Giving Bank and Orient Snow. Taking this tradition that has been part of the customs that combines the spirit of love, giving and sharing, BTHKL also had prepared a sumptuous Christmas treat for 50 children from three orphanage homes; Rumah K.I.D.S, Trinity Home and House of Joy. Throughout the year, BTHKL had a very fulfilling year organizing a series of CSR activities such as welfare home visits, clean-up projects and monetary contributions to the less fortunate. This also is in line with part of the motto of the company to give back through the community through our CSR effort.
For a change this year, BTHKL x The Giving Bank x Orient Snow brings a new meaning of the seasons of giving with our Gift of Wisdom campaign that helps promote the value of knowledge and education through our CSR effort. The book wish list tag was hung on the Christmas tree at the lobby for guests to purchase a book for children and in return, guest will have a sweet treat of our homemade Christmas cookies from our pastry chefs.
This year, we are honored to have a collaborative effort with our esteemed partner from The Giving Bank and Orient Snow who has bring their magic touch to turn our ballroom in a winter wonderland for a day. Complete with an artificial snow that carpeted the entire Manhattan ballroom that brings the ambiance of a winter landscape for our guest and children.
To kick start the magical journey for the children, we prepared a special treat for the children with a spectacular performance from Penny and Gang, Crystal Lee and Ashley Yemurai. It’s a magical experience indeed as the children were being treated with an unforgettable memory; experiencing a magical Christmas winter in a tropical country as well as a special appearance of Santa Claus, Santa Rina, and Mr Bean impersonator! The hotel General Manager, Mr. Anthony O’Neill promptly greeted our angels as well as our esteemed guest at the lobby before being ushered to the Manhattan Ballroom at Level 14 for a fun ice-breaking session with the rest of the hotel associates. The children together with their caretakers then enjoy a scrumptious Christmas buffet lunch specially prepared by the hotel for the growing children; while the balloonist arranged by The Giving Bank cheering the children with some cute design balloons.
After a satisfying lunch, the children were then greeted by the hotel pastry chef, Chef Zubir and his team who prepared a special treat for them. Each child received a freshly baked Gingerbread man and decoration tools to decorate their own gingerbread man which was a first for many of the children there. Guided by Chef Zubir and his team as well as the other hotel associates, the children had a blast customizing their own gingerbread man which they can then take with them at the end of the day.
The day’s activities came to an end with the cake cutting ceremony which was for all the December babies from Rumah K.I.D.S, Trinity Home and House of Joy.
