Now the guests of Berjaya Hotels & Resorts can pay their room bookings at 7-Eleven stores nationwide.

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2017 – Now Berjaya Hotels & Resorts (BHR) guests can pay their room bookings at 7-Eleven stores nationwide. BHR and 7-Eleven Malaysia, the country’s largest convenience store chain, are partnering to provide an alternative payment option to hotel guests, making the hotel reservation journey more convenient and hassle-free.

This new payment option is currently readily available for guests who book to stay in any of BHR properties in Malaysia including Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur, ANSA Kuala Lumpur, Berjaya Langkawi Resort, Berjaya Tioman Resort, The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort, Redang Island Resort, Berjaya Waterfront Hotel and Berjaya Penang Hotel (formerly known as Georgetown City Hotel).

As the first hotel brand in Malaysia that offers its guests to pay room bookings at 7-Eleven stores, BHR is all set to expand its presence and opportunities in the suburban market where online or credit card facility may not be readily available.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BHR, Mr. Hanley Chew said, “This new payment method offered by BHR is a simple and convenient way to make hotel reservations, especially for our guests who do not own any debit or credit cards. While the overall hospitality industry is in awe of the Millennials market and digitally savvy behavioral, which BHR is very much focusing on as well, we must also aware of the untapped market segment which cater to this group of guests. Now, with a reservation confirmation barcode, they can walk into any nearest 7-Eleven stores and pay cash to confirm their room bookings in our hotels.”

“There is tremendous potential in this market, and we aim to tap into this by introducing a more user-friendly payment method,” Mr. Hanley continued.

Executive Director of 7-Eleven Malaysia, Mr. Tan U-Ming commented, “This further reinforces 7-Eleven Malaysia’s commitment in bringing the latest retail offerings as well as added convenience to our more than 900,000 daily customers as we listen to what our customers want and we are always striving to meet their needs by introducing the most pioneering and sought after services and products. It further complements 7-Eleven’s continuous roll-out of offerings such as wider and better range of fresh food, innovative additions to our merchandize mix, improved store appearance, feel and layout with free Wi-Fi and seating areas as well as more consumer loyalty reward programs.”

He added, “We believe that our latest over-the-counter payment service partner provides further convenience to the public as one is able to pay for their U-Mobile, Astro, Telekom Malaysia, Syabas and Tenaga Nasional bills or purchases from BHR and Lazada among others even after midnight or weekends with no surcharge at any of our more than 2,100 outlets across the country, all at their own leisure whilst being able to grab a loaf of bread or two and these innovative efforts in partnership with MOL will allow us to provide the best and ultimate convenience experience for shoppers and consumers and reinforces our positioning as the undisputed leading one-stop, 24-hour standalone convenience retailer in the country as we continuously seek new ways to further enhance the public’s shopping experience with us.”
